Habibti Please is a cultural project by Moroccan Pakistani cultural worker, researcher, and organizer  Nashwa Lina Khan. The phrase habibti is an Arabic term of endearment meaning"my love, " "my dear," "my darling," or "my beloved," specifically used when speaking to a female. Habibti Please began as a cultural and political riff, a playful nod to a popular Drake line, but also a conscious critique and reclamation. Drake’s use of “habibti,” like much of his engagement with North African and Middle Eastern culture, has often flattened and exotified Moroccan women and our language. This project pushes back against that, returning the phrase to something intimate, political, and self-defined.

The project spans a art practice, podcast and Substack exploring culture, multiple forms of justice, liberation, and care through a feminist, decolonial perspective. It’s part of Nashwa's broader cultural work rooted in community care, humour, and political imagination.

These hats are an intentional offering rooted in humour, solidarity, and love. Proceeds go toward grassroots mutual aid and arts-for-liberation work, including Indigenous and Palestinian-led initiatives, as well as, community-based care projects.
